Punctuations.

Punctuations are very important while framing a sentence, paragraph, or detailed note. Proper use of punctuations gives proper meaning to a sentence. Any story, however beautiful it be, fail to express itself if punctuations are not used appropriately. Of all the punctuations, the most widely used are comma and full stop. Shorter and precise sentences with a proper comma and full stop give meaning to our sentences.

So is the case with our stories also; the story of our lives. These are the real stories, which we write ourselves, not with ink or keyboard, but with body and soul. So it’s important to ensure that full stops and commas are regularly used.

In our lives, some of us are so busy, continuously writing sentences that they forget to apply these punctuations. Just imagine would it be really exciting reading a long story with no full stop. So is life, with a non-stop chase to achieve one thing after another with no break in between. These punctuations signify that we take a halt, look back at what story we are creating, and haven’t missed those moments which give a beautiful meaning to our lives.

It’s an individual choice how they want their life stories to be. Out of the two stories, which are exactly similar word by word, which one would be a better read? The one with regular full stops and comma, or the one with none of these. Unfortunately, in the story of our life, it won’t be possible for the individual to go back in life and apply a full stop or comma to give a proper meaning to it.

I know a few people who are very successful professionally. However, sometimes I feel they have forgotten to celebrate their success. I always find them chasing the next success. There is no break in between. The passion for work has inspired them to keep on achieving newer milestones, without any full stops. Looks like they are chasing to fulfill their expectations and in this quest, have forgotten to fulfill the little expectations of those who matter to them the most. Well, that can be a personal choice, but to me it’s surprising.

In my view, it’s perfectly fine if we have not been able to use these till now. Those things that have already been written can’t be changed. But we can ensure that we consciously apply these punctuations to our lives going forward, take a break, experience things, and are not in hurry to move to the next line.

No one knows how long our ink will last for us to keep writing. It can finish suddenly without prior intimation. So let’s try to write something worth reading, and not something where the reader finds a Question mark as the only punctuation in the end.
